SMK College of Arts and Science for Women offers a range of student-centric schemes aimed at fostering social responsibility, leadership, and holistic development. These schemes, approved by Bharathidasan University, provide valuable opportunities for students to engage in community service, develop essential life skills, and build character.

National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme is an initiative to encourage volunteerism and social engagement among students.

  • Objective: To develop a sense of responsibility, discipline, and commitment to community welfare.
  • Activities:
    • Organizing village development projects.
    • Conducting health and awareness camps on sanitation, hygiene, and nutrition.
    • Tree plantation drives and environmental conservation activities.
    • Participation in state and national-level NSS camps.

Youth Red Cross (YRC)

The Youth Red Cross program focuses on creating a culture of humanitarian values and preparedness among students.

  • Objective: To inculcate principles of humanity, neutrality, and voluntary service.
  • Activities:
    • First-aid training sessions.
    • Blood donation camps and health awareness programs.
    • Disaster relief initiatives and safety drills.
    • Promoting peace and friendship through community activities.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

The National Cadet Corps program aims to instill discipline, leadership, and patriotism in students through military training and activities.

  • Objective:To build character, camaraderie, and a sense of duty towards the nation.
  • Activities:
    • Regular drill practices and parades.
    • Adventure training such as trekking, mountaineering, and camping.
    • Participation in NCC camps, including the Republic Day Camp and cultural exchange programs.
    • Training in disaster management and survival skills.
